These works deal with the complex rivalry between cultures. Takles’ work is widely divergent, in content, drawing from a personal lexicon of imagery; combing aspects of local and regional politics he choreographs these disparate elements into orchestrated structures. These paintings appear self- contained but are both complex and immediate, like circuitry they look for connections to a broader main frame.
